Rock Flour
Natalia Gomez & Seth LeDonne
NOVEMBER 2016
Show Statement:
ROCK FLOUR is a two person exhibition of local artists, Natalia Gomez and Seth LeDonne. Both are exhibiting new bodies of site specific work that function as solo exhibitions. These artists' contrasting languages dig up questions about how contemporary life hides and exploits human curiosity and the lengths we go to chase enlightenment.
Natalia Gomez is a Pittsburgh-based artist working in sculpture and photography. Sher received her BFA from Carnegie Mellon University with a double concentration in sculpture and photography. Through sculpture, installation, and photography, Natalia Gomez explores the conceptual facets of the commercial building process such as, the economy of construction and the aim for perfection. Utilizing construction materials and methods, she draws from the built environments she has both lived-in and passed-through as a means of uncovering the hidden craft of labor and the politics of domestic space.
