Show Statement:
PICTURE PLANES is an exploration of the domestic uncanny--the unsettling sensations that permeate our everyday lives, especially as they emerge through the deciphering of windows, mirrors and screens. This exhibition is expressed through two series including panel paintings using screen printing methods and silk relief prints gently nested into the gallery walls.
"I am interested in the unstable relationship between the physical space from which we look and simulated spaces. Mirrors, screens and windows are serial by nature. Windows are rarely singular entities. Screens and mirrors, although not necessarily grouped in multiples, imply multiplied spaces and infinitum and thus: seriality"
