THEN: We launched The Bunker Review as a platform to engage in conversations about contemporary art centered on the contributions of our exhibiting & resident artists. It was aimed at investigating the vision and significance of art presented and produced at the space.
NOW: Since then the scope of the Review has grown significantly: as one of the few dedicated arts publications in Pittsburgh, in addition to covering work shown at Bunker we also seek to situate other works in the context of contemporary art, expand upon the vision of artists, provide context to audiences, offer interpretations, and create space for questions and generate discussions around the vibrant Pittsburgh arts ecosystem at large, and beyond. In addition to traditional arts writing formats, we are also interested in experimental works, mixed media pieces, series, and exploring online publication as a platform for art making.
We support the careers of working artists and arts writers through a combination of writing opportunities, live events and audio-visual programming.
Editors-in-chief: Anna Mirzayan (she/her) and Harrison Kinnane Smith (he/him)
