In the process of seeing myself more I’ve discovered slowly that I am more than just myself. I am the places that I have been, the sweet scents that I have smelled, my family and their memories. I am my hopes and joys, I am the things that I fear and the things I am overcoming both today and yesterday.
Throughout my journey in creating art I’ve been working more and more with exploring the different facets of my life and looking unto these moments with fondness, nostalgia and also objectiveness; in the things that I’ve missed and in the moments that I’ve cherished. Ever since I started creating art, I always thought it was important to tell the stories of the people that I work with, this show however is so much more meaningful to me in this journey because even in creating stories of others, I forgot to create the one of myself.
Through my use of various forms of visual art expression such as illustration, painting, film/digital photography I showcase all my various experiences, memories of love and of hurt and the places that I have seen and want to return back to, the ones that I can no longer and the spaces that will always be home to me.
Today\\Yesterday is an acknowledgement of my past for what it has been, my present for what it is, and a hope for what my future will be.
